BACKtoGOLF The BACKtoGOLF program is targeted toward golfers with back, neck and extremity injuries. A certified physical therapist and a PGA/LPGA teaching professional instruct and train the golfer in a healthier rotational swing with a stabilized spine. Any golfer can use BACKtoGOLF with skill levels ranging from amateurs to professionals. "The Stabilized Spine Golf Swing" reduces the shear, torsion, compression and sidebending/rotation forces on the thoracic and lumbar spine.
The BACKtoGOLF program features:
- Spinal stabilization training and trunk strengthening.
- Golf swing specific stretching and soft tissue mobilization to reduce
tissue tension during the back swing, impact and follow through phases of
the swing.
- Golf swing specific strengthening, general strengthening and conditioning
as determined by diagnosis.
- PGA/LPGA supported and approved.
- Team approach.
- Enforcing home exercise and stretching using the "BACKtoGOLF Fitness
Express Program."
- Training and strengthening on "The Coach" swing trainer for efficient,
effective strengthening of the golfing muscles of the trunk, legs/hips, and
shoulders.
- Video tape analysis of the swing position at address, backswing, impact
and follow-through.
- Special protocols for the senior golfer and joint replacement.
- "The Stabilized Spine Golf Swing" developed by Tommy Nix, PGA Class A
professional.
- Progress notes on a monthly basis to your physician.
- Program developed by a nationally recognized Board Certified Orthopedic
Physical Therapist and a PGA Class A teaching professional with over 25
years of teaching experience.
- Patients will play a better game for more years by reducing the strain of
the swing on the spine and extremities.
